Collier County is STORMREADY - AGAIN!

On Tuesday, July 26, 2005, WFO Miami MIC Rusty Pfost and
WCM Jim
Lushine presented Collier County Emergency Management Coordinators Rick
Zyvoloski and Jim vonRinteln with
their updated STORMREADY! sign for 2005-2008. The presentation
was held at the regular
meeting of the Collier County Commission in Naples at the Government
Center on the Tamiami Trail and was carried live on closed circuit TV
and simulcast on the web.
Collier County Emergency Manager Dan Summers and the EM
staff
have done an outstanding job fulfilling the NWS StormReady!
program requirements to ensure that Collier County can meet the
challenge
from any weather threat. Those threats not only include hurricanes, but
also tornadoes, hail, damaging straight line winds, flash floods, and
even
fires.
CollierCounty thus becomes the first mainland South Florida
county to renew their StormREADY status. Almost all Florida counties
are StormREADY!
