How Do I Become a Skywarn Spotter?

First, contact your local county or city emergency manager or our class schedule for information on classes in your area.  In the Mid-South, SKYWARN classes are conducted from mid- September through October and from mid- January through mid- April.  Our expectation is that you attend a SKYWARN spotter course every two years.  SKYWARN spotters report severe weather  directly to the National Weather Service via a toll free telephone call or via amateur radio.
