...MIDSOUTH SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS FROM THE FEBRUARY 10TH WINTER
STORM...

THE COMBINATION OF A SURFACE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM THAT TRACKED ALONG
THE NORTHERN GULF COAST AND A SOUTHWARD MOVING ARCTIC FRONT RESULTED
IN A SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM ACROSS A LARGE PORTION OF THE MIDSOUTH.
IN FACT...THIS IS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM TO HIT THE
MEMPHIS METROPOLITAN AREA SINCE FEBRUARY 6TH 2002 WHEN 3.7 INCHES OF
SNOW OCCURRED. 3.2 INCHES WAS MEASURED AT MEMPHIS INTERNATIONAL
AIRPORT FROM THE FEBRUARY 10TH 2006 STORM.

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE SNOWFALL TOTALS FOR ALL 56 COUNTIES THAT THE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MEMPHIS SERVE. THE TOTALS ARE A RESULT
OF REPORTS RECEIVED BY THE NWS COOPERATIVE OBSERVER NETWORK...
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT...LOCAL MEDIA...AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. WE
THANK ALL OF THOSE WHO TOOK THE TIME TO RELAY THEIR WINTER WEATHER
