WITH THE WINTER STORM THAT IMPACTED THE REGION ON WEDNESDAY DECEMBER

A SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM IMPACTED THE MID-SOUTH ON DECEMBER 22ND.

THIS STORM BROUGHT A VARIETY OF WINTER WEATHER TO PORTIONS OF
THE AREA. WITH ARCTIC AIR REMAINING IN PLACE INTO THIS
WEEKEND...MOST OF THE MID-SOUTH SHOULD EXPERIENCE A WHITE
CHRISTMAS...WITH SNOW AND ICE REMAINING ON THE GROUND THROUGH
CHRISTMAS DAY.

SIGNIFICANT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS FELL ACROSS NORTHEAST ARKANSAS...THE
MISSOURI BOOTHEEL...AND NORTHWEST TENNESSEE...MAINLY NORTH OF A LINE
FROM WALNUT RIDGE TO CARUTHERSVILLE ARKANSAS TO PARIS TENNESSEE.
SOME SLEET MIXED IN AS WELL ACROSS THESE AREAS. THE REMAINDER OF
WEST TENNESSEE...EAST ARKANSAS...AND PORTIONS OF NORTHERN
MISSISSIPPI RECEIVED SIGNIFICANT SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN
ACCUMULATIONS. THIS INCLUDED THE MEMPHIS AND JACKSON TENNESSEE
METROPOLITAN REGIONS. AREAS FURTHER SOUTH...MAINLY TO THE SOUTH OF A
CHARLESTON TO TUPELO MISSISSIPPI LINE...MAINLY A DUSTING OF SNOW WAS
