...WINTER STORM WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO
AND ALL OF WEST TEXAS EXCEPT FOR THE PRESIDIO VALLEY...MARFA
PLATEAU...THE BIG BEND AREA...AND TERRELL COUNTY...

.A POTENT STORM SYSTEM WILL AFFECT THE AREA WEDNESDAY THROUGH
THURSDAY NIGHT. WHILE PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN AS RAIN ON
WEDNESDAY...THE PRECIPITATION WILL GRADUALLY CHANGE OVER TO SNOW
LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT. HIGHER ELEVATIONS IN THE GUADALUPE AND DAVIS
MOUNTAINS WILL SEE THE CHANGE TO SNOW FIRST...AS WELL AS
SOUTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO AND NORTHWESTERN PERMIAN BASIN. THE
TRANSITION TO SNOW WILL CONTINUE THURSDAY...WITH ALL SNOW EXPECTED
ACROSS THE WATCH AREA BY THURSDAY NIGHT. WIDESPREAD SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE WATCH
AREA...WITH UPWARDS OF 5 INCHES IN NORTHERN LEA COUNTY NEW MEXICO.
LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS WILL BE POSSIBLE. ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL
RESULT IN HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS INCLUDING ICY AND SNOW PACKED
