...ACCUMULATING SNOW ACROSS THE UPPER TRANS PECOS AND PERMIAN
BASIN...

SNOW MOVED ACROSS THE BASIN EARLY THIS MORNING WITH BETWEEN ONE
HALF AND 1 INCH OF SNOW REPORTED IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS. THE CHANCE
FOR SIGNIFICANT ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW IS ENDING HOWEVER
THERE IS FOG AND FREEZING FOG IN THE WAKE OF THE EXITING SNOW THAT
WILL RESULT IN LIGHT ICE ACCUMULATIONS AND REDUCED VISIBILITIES.
SLICK ROAD AND LOW VISIBILITIES WILL MAKE DIFFICULT DRIVING
CONDITIONS. CAUTION IS ADVISED DRIVING TODAY.

A STRONG COLD FRONT THAT MOVED THROUGH THE AREA TODAY HAS BROUGHT
MUCH COLDER AIR INTO THE REGION. A DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE THROUGH
THE AREA TONIGHT...WITH INCREASED MOISTURE RESULTING IN THE
DEVELOPMENT OF SNOW ACROSS THE UPPER TRANS PECOS AND SOUTHERN
PERMIAN BASIN OVERNIGHT AND FRIDAY. ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO
BE ON THE ORDER OF 1 TO 2 INCHES ACROSS THIS AREA. REDUCED
VISIBILITIES AND SLICK ROAD SURFACES WILL MAKE DRIVING CONDITIONS
HAZARDOUS.

AND BRING WIDESPREAD RAIN AND SNOW WITH IT. PRECIPITATION WILL
SPREAD ACROSS THE UPPER TRANS PECOS AND PERMIAN BASIN AFTER
MIDNIGHT. MOST OF THIS IS EXPECTED TO BE IN THE FORM OF SNOW WITH
RAIN MIXED IN ALONG AND SOUTH OF I-10. ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED
TO STAY GENERALLY UNDER 1 INCH WITH ISOLATED HIGHER AMOUNTS

...SOME SLICK SPOTS POSSIBLE THIS MORNING...

WINTER WEATHER HAS ENDED ACROSS WEST TEXAS AND SOUTHEAST NEW
MEXICO SO THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY WAS CANCELLED. HOWEVER
COULD STILL SEE A LITTLE FREEZING FOG THIS MORNING ACROSS THE
AREA BUT THIS HAS BEEN SLOW TO DEVELOP. THIS FOG COULD RESULT IN
SLIPPERY BRIDGES. MOST OF THE PRECIPATION FROM YESTERDAY HAS
SUBLIMATED IN THE DRY AIR BUT MORNING DRIVERS SHOULD REMAIN
CAUTIOUS AS SOME SLICK SPOTS MAY REMAIN. REPORTS INDICATE THAT
MOST ROADS ACROSS THE AREA ARE DRY. THE GREATEST PRECIPATION WAS
ACROSS THE NORTHEAST PERMIAN BASIN AND THAT LOCATION WILL BE THE
MOST LIKELY TO HAVE ANY REMAINING ICE THIS MORNING. AREA TRAVELERS
SHOULD USE CAUTION.

...A MIX OF LIGHT FREEZING RAIN...FREEZING DRIZZLE...AND SLEET POSSIBLE
SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY...

A MUCH COLDER AIRMASS WILL MOVE INTO THE REGION SUNDAY AND MONDAY WITH
INCREASING CHANCES FOR WINTRY PRECIPITATION ACROSS MUCH OF THE
AREA. THIS PRECIPITATION SHOULD BEGIN AS RAIN SUNDAY AFTERNOON
THEN AS TEMPERATURES CONTINUE TO FALL SUNDAY EVENING/NIGHT...RAIN
WILL CHANGE OVER TO FREEZING RAIN AND/OR SLEET GENERALLY NORTH OF
I-10. PORTIONS OF THE WESTERN LOW ROLLING PLAINS COULD RECEIVE UP
TO ONE TO TWO TENTHS OF AN INCH OF ICE...WHILE OTHER AREAS MAY
SEE LESS. REGARDLESS...LIGHT ICE ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE NORTH
OF THE I-10 AND COULD RESULT IN DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS
DURING THE EARLY MORNING COMMUTE MONDAY ACROSS THESE AREAS.

LIGHT ICE ACCUMULATIONS HAVE PROVEN TO BE VERY PROBLEMATIC FOR
AREA TRAVEL...AND IT IS ADVISED TO DRIVE CAUTIOUSLY AND ALLOW
EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION.
