...ACCUMULATING SNOWS EXPECTED ACROSS SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO AND
PORTIONS OF WEST TEXAS...

AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WILL COMBINE WITH VERY COLD AIR TO CREATE A
WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING MAINLY
ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO AND THE PERMIAN BASIN. THE PRIMARY
PRECIPITATION TYPE WILL BE SNOW THOUGH BRIEF PERIODS OF SLEET OR
FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL BE POSSIBLE. NO ICE ACCUMULATIONS ARE
EXPECTED THOUGH SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO ONE INCH WILL BE
POSSIBLE. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL BE IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF
THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS WHERE ONE TO TWO INCHES ARE POSSIBLE...AND
NORTHERN LEA COUNTY WHERE AN INCH IS POSSIBLE. OTHER AREAS FURTHER
SOUTH AND EAST WILL SEE ANYWHERE FROM A DUSTING TO ONE HALF OF AN
INCH. SOME SNOW MAY BE DRIFTING AND BLOWING WHICH CAN CREATE
DRIFTS HIGHER THAN THE AVERAGE SNOW AMOUNT. AREA ROADS WILL BECOME
SLICK TONIGHT...ESPECIALLY ELEVATED SURFACES AND AREAS WHERE SNOW
DRIFTS ACROSS THE ROAD. BE CAREFUL TRAVELING AND ALLOW EXTRA TIME
