...Notable river level rises observed on the Rio Grande...

Recent heavy rainfall along the Rio Grande has resulted in higher
river levels at the river gauge 3 miles north of Candelaria. At
215 am CDT, the stage was 7.9 feet (2.4 meters). River levels
are expected to stay above action stage overnight, which is 7.5
feet (2.3 meters). Barring any additional heavy rainfall, the
Rio Grande river should recede to 6.5 to 7 feet (2.0 to 2.1
meters) by late Friday morning or Friday afternoon.

River levels are expected to rise. Ranchers and farmers need to
remain alert to the weather and river conditions as livestock and
machinery may need to be moved to higher ground.
