...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING FOR
AREAS ALONG THE RIO GRANDE RIVER FROM THE PRESIDIO VALLEY EASTWARD
TO THE BIG BEND AND LOWER TRANS PECOS...

.INTENSE HEAT WILL CONTINUE THIS AFTERNOON AND TUESDAY AFTERNOON
ALONG THE RIO GRANDE RIVER AS AN UPPER LEVEL HIGH REMAINS OVER
THE AREA. NOT ONLY WILL DAYTIME HIGHS EXCEED 105 DEGREES...BUT
OVERNIGHT LOWS WILL REMAIN ABOVE 75 DEGREES PROVIDING LITTLE
RELIEF. THESE CONDITIONS WILL INCREASE THE RISK OF DEHYDRATION
AND HEAT EXHAUSTION.

* IMPACTS...DEHYDRATION AND HEAT ILLNESSES CAN BE EXPECTED WITH
  OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES WITHOUT PRECAUTIONS BEING TAKEN.

* TEMPERATURE...AFTERNOON HIGHS OF 105 TO 108. MORNING LOWS OF 75
  TO 80.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN
POSSIBLE...RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT
STROKE. WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN
POSSIBLE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.

TO REDUCE RISK DURING OUTDOOR WORK THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND
HEALTH ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS SCHEDULING FREQUENT REST BREAKS
IN SHADED OR AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENTS.

ANYONE OVERCOME BY HEAT SHOULD BE MOVED TO A COOL AND SHADED
LOCATION. HEAT STROKE IS AN EMERGENCY...CALL 911.
