THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST NEW
MEXICO...SOUTHWEST TEXAS AND WEST TEXAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL PERSIST OVER SOUTHEAST NEW
MEXICO AND PORTIONS OF WEST TEXAS THIS MORNING. GUSTY WINDS AND
FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING STRIKES WILL ACCOMPANY THE
STRONGER STORMS, ALONG WITH BRIEF HEAVY RAINFALL.

HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO CLIMB ABOVE THE CENTURY MARK
TODAY ACROSS THE WESTERN PERMIAN BASIN, TRANS PECOS REGION, SOUTHEAST
NEW MEXICO AND ALONG THE RIO GRANDE. THOSE PLANNING OUTDOOR
ACTIVITY SHOULD EXERCISE CAUTION TO AVOID HEAT RELATED ILLNESS.

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THE GUADALUPE AND DAVIS
MOUNTAINS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING, IN ADDITION TO IN AND NEAR
VAN HORN AND CANDELARIA.  MORE ISOLATED STORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE FROM
THE SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO PLAINS, SOUTH THROUGH THE UPPER TRANS
PECOS, AND INTO THE BIG BEND REGION.  SOME OF THESE STORMS COULD
STRENGTHEN ENOUGH TO PRODUCE HIGH WINDS, HEAVY RAINFALL AND FREQUENT
CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING STRIKES.  A SEVERE STORM OR TWO CANNOT BE
RULED OUT, NOR CAN LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

READINGS WILL STAY HOT THROUGH THE WEEK ACROSS THE WESTERN
PERMIAN BASIN, TRANS PECOS REGION, SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO AND ALONG
THE RIO GRANDE. WITH OVERNIGHT LOW TEMPERATURES ONLY EXPECTED TO
COOL BACK INTO THE MID AND UPPER 70S...THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAT
RELATED ILLNESS EXISTS FOR THOSE INVOLVED IN OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES.
STAY HYDRATED BY DRINKING PLENTY OF WATER.
