.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

ISOLATED TO SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ALONG AND EAST OF A GAIL TO
CRANE TO SANDERSON LINE WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO REACH
MARGINALLY SEVERE LEVELS...WITH THE MAIN THREATS BEING LARGE HAIL
AND DAMAGING WINDS.

STRONG WINDS IN COMBINATION WITH LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND HIGH FIRE
DANGER WILL RESULT IN CRITICAL FIRE CONDITIONS THROUGH 9 PM MDT
THIS EVENING FOR THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS. A RED FLAG WARNING IS IN
EFFECT.

EAST OF A HOBBS TO PECOS TO BIG BEND LINE.  SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS
ARE ALSO POSSIBLE, ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE PERMIAN BASIN AND LOWER
TRANS PECOS.  STORMS THAT BECOME SEVERE WILL BE CAPABLE OF
PRODUCING LARGE HAIL, DAMAGING WINDS AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL.
AN ISOLATED TORNADO OR TWO CANNOT BE RULED OUT.

NEAR CRITICAL FIRE CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS PORTIONS OF
SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING DUE TO DRY AND
BREEZY CONDITIONS.  A FEW DRY LIGHTNING STRIKES WILL ALSO BE

TO THE DAVIS MOUNTAINS.

TODAY. A FEW STORMS IN THE NORTHEASTERN PERMIAN BASIN MAY BE
STRONG WITH HAIL AND GUSTY WINDS THE PRIMARY THREATS.

NEAR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE OVER THE
GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS AND PORTIONS OF THE SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO PLAINS
THIS AFTERNOON DUE TO EXPECTED DRY CONDITIONS...AND SOUTHWEST
WINDS OF 15 TO 20 MPH.
