THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST NEW
MEXICO...SOUTHWEST TEXAS AND WEST TEXAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
A PASSING UPPER LEVEL SYSTEM WILL PRODUCE FIRE WEATHER AND WIND
CONCERNS TODAY ACROSS THE REGION. THE COMBINATION OF VERY DRY AND
WINDY CONDITIONS TODAY ALONG WITH HIGH FIRE DANGER WILL RESULT IN
CRITICAL RED FLAG CONDITIONS ACROSS THE REGION INTO TONIGHT.

WINDY TO VERY WINDY CONDITIONS WILL OCCUR THROUGH THIS EVENING
ACROSS WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE FORECAST AREA. A WIND ADVISORY IS
ALSO IN EFFECT THIS MORNING THROUGH THIS EVENING FOR THE UPPER
TRANS PECOS...DAVIS MOUNTAINS...VAN HORN HIGHWAY 54 CORRIDOR...
AND MARFA PLATEAU FOR SUSTAINED WESTERLY WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH.

A HIGH WIND WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS
THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON FOR SUSTAINED WESTERLY WINDS OF 35 TO 45
MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 60 MPH... BECOMING NORTHEAST WINDS 40 TO 55
MPH WITH GUSTS TO 75 MPH TONIGHT AS A STRONG COLD FRONT PUSHES
SOUTH THROUGH THE AREA.

TONIGHT/S COLD FRONT WILL BRING VERY GUSTY WINDS AND PRODUCE AREAS OF
BLOWING DUST /WITH LOCALLY REDUCED VISIBILITIES 1-3 MILES
POSSIBLE/ ACROSS THE PERMIAN BASIN AND SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO. A
SECONDARY WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THESE AREAS TONIGHT
THROUGH 7 AM CDT /6 AM MDT/ MONDAY MORNING FOR NORTH WINDS 25 TO
35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 45 MPH.

A HIGH WIND WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS
THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON.

UNSEASONABLY COLD TEMPERATURES TUESDAY MORNING MAY FALL TO NEAR
FREEZING ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO...THE PERMIAN
BASIN...DAVIS MOUNTAINS AND MARFA PLATEAU.
