FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR WEST TEXAS/SOUTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIDLAND/ODESSA TX
441 AM CST SAT NOV 22 2014

.DISCUSSION...
AN UPPER LEVEL LOW WILL BRING AN ELEVATED FIRE DANGER ACROSS THE
AREA TOMORROW...ESPECIALLY IN SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO DUE TO MINIMUM
AFTERNOON HUMIDITIES DROPPING TO NEAR 15 PERCENT AND SUSTAINED
WINDS FROM THE WEST ABOVE 20 MPH. AT THIS TIME THE MINIMUM
HUMIDITY APPEARS MARGINAL AND THE TIME PERIOD WILL BE BREIF SO A
RED FLAG WARNING IS NOT EXPECTED...THOUGH A FIRE DANGER STATEMENT
MAY BE NEEDED. MONDAY CONDITIONS WILL IMPROVE BECAUSE DESPITE LOW
HUMIDITIES REMAINING ACROSS THE AREA...WINDS WILL BE LIGHTER.
OVERNIGHT RECOVERY WILL BE FAIR.

.DISCUSSION...
ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED THE NEXT SEVERAL

WINDS WILL REMAIN FAIRLY LIGHT AND CONDITIONS SHOULD NOT APPROACH
CRITICAL ANYWHERE. THERE WILL BE A CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND STRONG
THUNDERSTORMS FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY WITH GUSTY WINDS AND HAIL
THE MAIN THREATS. OVERNIGHT RECOVERY WILL BE EXCELLENT THROUGH
FRIDAY NIGHT BUT WILL ONLY BE FAIR OVER THE WEEKEND AS DRIER AIR
ARRIVES.
