FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR WEST TEXAS/SOUTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIDLAND/ODESSA TX
207 PM CDT TUE MAY 3 2016

.DISCUSSION...
WARMER AND DRIER CONDITIONS WILL BE TREND OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL
DAYS AND EVEN LONGER ACROSS THE TRANS PECOS AND MOST OF SOUTHEAST
NEW MEXICO. WINDS WILL BE SLOWER TO RETURN WITH SOME WIND RETURING
FRIDAY TO FAVORED AREAS OF THE MOUNTAINS. HOWEVER OF CONCERN IS
THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME DRY LIGHTNING ACROSS THE TRANS PECOS AND
SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO ON FRIDAY. AT THIS POINT THIS IS A LOW
PROBABILITY TYPE SCENARIO, BUT DRY LIGHTNING USUALLY IS. BY SATURDAY
WINDS WILL BE STRONGER OVER A LARGER AREA RESULTING IN INCREASED
FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS.
