FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR WEST TEXAS/SOUTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIDLAND/ODESSA TX
346 AM CDT TUE MAY 3 2016

.DISCUSSION...

FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS WILL REMAIN LOW THIS WEEK. RH/S WILL BE ABOVE
CRITICAL LEVELS TODAY...WITH GOOD TO VERY GOOD NOCTURNAL RECOVERY.
LIGHT WINDS THE NEXT FEW DAYS WILL PRECLUDE CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
CONDITIONS...DESPITE RH/S GRADUALLY DECREASING...ESPECIALLY ACROSS
THE WEST WHERE GRASSES ARE STILL CURED. A FEW ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS
ARE POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS THE NORTHERN PERMIAN BASIN AND
PARTS OF THE SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO PLAINS...WITH THE NEXT CHANCE OF
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS NOT EXPECTED UNTIL THE WEEKEND.

&&

FOR POINT-SPECIFIC FORECASTS PLEASE SEE THE POINT FIRE WEATHER MATRIX
