WINDS WILL INCREASE ACROSS SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO AND SOUTHWEST TEXAS
TODAY AHEAD OF AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH. AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITIES
WILL RANGE FROM 5 TO 15 PERCENT ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA. WEST WINDS
WILL INCREASE TO 20 TO 25 MPH AND GUSTY IN THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS
BY MID DAY AND CONTINUE THROUGH MID EVENING WITH A HIGH FIRE DANGER
PROMPTING A RED FLAG WARNING FOR THAT AREA. SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WINDS
COULD BE GUSTY AT TIMES OVER THE PERMIAN BASIN RESULTING IN NEAR
CRITICAL CONDITIONS AT TIMES. A COLD FRONT WILL PUSH THROUGH THE AREA
OVERNIGHT SHIFTING WINDS TO THE NORTH.
