Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
Nantional Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
222 PM CDT Tue May 23 2017

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
THURSDAY EVENING FOR GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS FOR RH BELOW 10 PERCENT...
WINDS ABOVE 20 MPH AND VERY HIGH FIRE DANGER....

.DISCUSSION...
Warmer and drier weather on Wednesday will give way to hot, very dry
and at times windy conditions. Critical fire weather is likely
across the Guadalupe Mountains and possible across Southeast New
Mexico. A fire watch is in effect for the Guadalupe Mountains for
Thursday and may extend into Saturday. For now recent rain across
Southeast New Mexico have lessened concerns, but this could change. A
cold front on Sunday will lessen concerns.
