HUMIDITY OF 8 TO 10 PERCENT...AND VERY HIGH FIRE DANGER FOR THE
GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS...

.DISCUSSION...

TEMPERATURES WILL WARM UP TO ABOVE NORMAL BEGINNING TOMORROW AND
CONTINUE THROUGH THE END OF THE WEEK. DRY AIR WITH RH VALUES OF 15
PERCENT OR LESS WILL BE PRESENT ACROSS AREAS ALONG AND WEST OF THE
UPPER TRANS PECOS ON TUESDAY. 20 FOOT WINDS WILL BE NEAR 20 MPH IN
THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS ON TUESDAY SO FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL
BE ELEVATED ACROSS THIS AREA. THIS DRY AIR WILL SPREAD FURTHER
EASTWARD ON WEDNESDAY WITH 20 FOOT WINDS OF 20 MPH OR GREATER
ACROSS THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS. A FIRE WEATHER WATCH IS IN EFFECT
FOR THIS AREA AND MAY NEED TO BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE SOUTHEAST NEW
MEXICO AND VAN HORN AND THE HIGHWAY 54 CORRIDOR. FRIDAY APPEARS TO
HAVE A HIGH POTENTIAL FOR FIRE WEATHER WITH WINDS AT OR ABOVE 20
MPH AND RH VALUES NEAR 15 PERCENT ACROSS A LARGE PORTION OF THE
