MORNING TO MIDNIGHT CDT /11 PM MDT/ TONIGHT FOR RELATIVE HUMIDITY
OF 15% OR LESS, 20 FT WINDS OF 20 MPH OR MORE, AND HIGH TO VERY
HIGH FIRE DANGER FOR SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO AND MOST OF CULBERSON

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH
FRIDAY EVENING FOR RELATIVE HUMIDITY OF 15% OR LESS, 20 FT WINDS
OF 20 MPH OR MORE, AND HIGH TO VERY HIGH FIRE DANGER FOR SOUTHEAST
NEW MEXICO AND MOST OF CULBERSON COUNTY...

.DISCUSSION...

Very hot, dry, and windy conditions today will result in critical
fire weather conditions across the Guadalupe Mtns, SE NM Plains, and
most of Culberson county where RHs will bottom out around 5-7%. 20ft
winds of 25-40 mph are expected across these areas, but elsewhere,
winds will remain below critical levels, precluding additional fire
weather concerns. Recovery will be poor for all but far eastern
portions of the area, with critical fire weather conditions expected
to return Friday across the same areas as hot, dry, and windy
conditions persist. Relief will come on Sunday with a cold front,
increased moisture, and cooler temperatures.
