FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR WEST TEXAS/SOUTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIDLAND/ODESSA TX
224 PM CDT SUN APR 20 2014

.DISCUSSION...
RECENT RAINS WILL BRING ABUNDANT MOISTURE THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS
AND KEEP THE CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER RISK LOW. AN UPPER TROUGH
MOVING INTO THE PLAINS ON WEDNESDAY WILL SHARPEN A DRYLINE AND
SPREAD DRY AIR EAST INTO THE WESTERN PERMIAN BASIN. STORMS MAY
FORM ALONG THIS DRYLINE AND BRING ADDITIONAL RAIN TO THE EASTERN
BASIN BEFORE THE DRY AIR ENGULFS THE WHOLE AREA THE REMAINDER OF
THE WEEK. OVERNIGHT RECOVERY WILL BE GOOD TO EXCELLENT THROUGH
WEDNESDAY.

FOR POINT-SPECIFIC FORECASTS PLEASE SEE THE POINT FIRE WEATHER MATRIX
