Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
Nantional Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
304 AM CST Sat Feb 18 2017

.DISCUSSION...

Southwest to west winds will not be as strong today as an upper
ridge moves over the region, along with high cloud cover. Minimum
relative humidity will drop to 15-20 percent over the Upper Trans
Pecos and portions of the SE NM Plains, but not even elevated fire
weather conditions are expected. Recovery will be poor along and
west of a Hobbs to Big Bend line tonight, and good east. There will
be a slight chance of thunderstorms over the eastern Permian Basin
Sunday, near critical fire weather conditions could occur from the
Presidio Valley to the Upper Trans Pecos Sunday afternoon, where
RH/s will drop to 10-15 percent, and southwest winds will increase
to 15-20 mph.
