AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIDLAND/ODESSA TX
140 PM CDT Wed Jun 3 2015

.DISCUSSION...
An upper level ridge of high pressure will build over west Texas
and southeast New Mexico through the next seven days. This should
significantly suppress precipitation chances for the most part
across the region. It does appear that the best chance of convection
the next several days will be Thursday afternoon and evening from
the southeast New Mexico plains south to the Davis Mountains.
Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected on that day in
those areas due to a mid level disturbance interacting with
upslope flow in the mountains and a surface trough in the plains.
Beyond Thursday, more isolated activity cant be ruled out in
portions of the mountains on several afternoon and evenings due to
upslope flow continuing underneath fairly cool mid level
temperatures. Near normal high temperatures are expected the next
several days despite the presence of the upper ridge per forecast
850 millibar temperatures and upslope flow continuing.
