.PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 441 AM CST Sun Dec 28 2014/

..Wintry Conditions expected for the end of 2014...

DISCUSSION...As of 4:30 AM CST Sunday...Precip has pretty much
ended across the CWA per regional radars and sfc obs. In areas
that have cleared out patchy freezing fog has formed. In the
Guadalupe Mtns the freezing fog is dense...therefore a Dense Fog
Advisory has been issued thru 11 AM MST for this area.

Ridging will move over the Southern Plains bringing dry weather
and a warming trend through Monday. The pattern becomes
complicated starting on Tuesday. An Arctic front will drop south
on Tuesday. WSW flow aloft ahead of an upper low in Southern CA
will advect mild Pacific air over the low level cold airmass.
Forecast model soundings indc the possibility of light freezing
rain across most of the CWA starting Tuesday night and continuing
through New Years Eve (Wednesday)...and possibly New Years Eve
night. Travelers should stay tuned to the latest forecast. Temps
on Wednesday could be even colder than the current forecast...
depending how much arctic air moves south.

The upper low over Southern CA will move east through the Northern
Panhandle on Friday. With the CWA to the south of the track of the
upper low warmer air will advect into the area. It looks like
there will be a chance of rain with milder temps New Years Day and
Friday. Zonal flow aloft will bring dry and cool weather to the
CWA next weekend.
