.PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 214 PM CST Sun Feb 1 2015/

Upper low has tracked well to the s of the Rio Grande and will stay
there for about the next 48hrs. Meanwhile a cold front is moving
thru the CWFA attm with gusty ne winds and drier air in its wake.
7h-5h LR`s of 6.5-7 C/km across the far sw today still suggest isold
tstms are possible, especially with a minor shrtwv evident on water
vapor lifting ne toward the BB region. As the front moves into the
mtns areas of low clouds and fog will be possible on the east slopes
overnight. Surface ridging toward morning and dry air will favor a
cold morning, in fact probably the coldest morning since Jan 23
across the PB. Pressure falls will make the way for warmer
temperatures across the wrn 1/3 of CWFA, elsewhere temps will be
similar to today`s. Warmer wx will be more noticeable and widespread
Tue/Wed when 85h temps suggest highs back into the 60s and 70s,
respectively. Tue the said upper low will finally lift newd nearing
the far Lower Trans Pecos with a few SHRA possible there. A cold
front will pass quickly thru the area Wed night with breezy/windy
conditions. It will be much cooler Thur PM. Interesting that the
ECMWF/Canadian 85h temps are much colder than GFS. Another cold
morning on Fri, widespread 20s. Next Sat looks to be an unusually
the warm day with 85h temps as high as 18-20C, followed by a weak
dry front Sun and a little warmer Mon.
