Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
141 PM CDT SAT OCT 1 2016

.DISCUSSION...
In the upper levels have a strong low over OH with another one along
the WA Coast... in between have a weak ridge over the area. As the
coastal low moves inland this week it will flatten out the ridge
with the trough passing over the Panhandle by Friday.

Today is Oct 1... normal highs for this time of year in the Permian
Basin are 82. Expect highs about 5 degrees or more above normal
through mid week before another cold front is expected to blow
through Thursday. Friday will be cooler with highs mainly in the
70s.

A few storms are possible this afternoon across the south and
satellite shows enhanced CU has developed. Models continue to
develop a little qpf tonight over Brewster so added mention of
isolated storms. Best chance of rain looks to be Monday night and
Tuesday... otherwise looks like a pretty dry week.
