DISCUSSION...
For the first day of June a summertime wx pattern setting up as an
upper ridge builds over the area. This will result in warmer
temperatures and decreasing rain chances this week. The rainy pattern
is over as the procession of upper lows has ended.

A persistent lee side trough extending down across the western CWA will
help to keep a south wind across the area and dewpts in the 50s and
60s. This trough may also act as a focus for afternoon storms.

Warming temperatures as readings return to the 90s under plentiful
sunshine and sinking air under the ridge. Some locations... mainly
the Pecos Valley and Rio Grande Valley... may push the century mark
by midweek.

Models developing some qpf out west over the higher elevations late this
afternoon and into tonight. Have already started to get a few radar
returns over the Davis Mtns. Gusty wind should be the main concern
with these storms. Will leave a slight chance pops over the west
this afternoon and tonight. May be a few storms along the surface
trough Tuesday afternoon but after that subsidence from the ridge
will squash most convection.

By the end of the week an upper trough will set up along the West
Coast that could be the next rain producer if it can dislodge the
ridge. Current model runs have ridge staying in place and the
trough weakening and sliding well to the north.
