AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIDLAND/ODESSA TX
213 AM CDT Sat May 30 2015

.UPDATE...

Allowed Severe Thunderstorm Watch number 242 to expire.

&&

.DISCUSSION...

Convection will be moving south and east of the Permian Basin
within the next hour. Think storms will not be strong enough for
additional severe thunderstorms, so the Watch was allowed to
expire. A storm or two could still produce gusty winds over 50 mph
and locally heavy rainfall as they move south and east of the
region. Additional thunderstorms will continue to move south and
east into southeast New Mexico overnight. Some of these storms
could produce gusty winds over 50 mph, at least small hail and
locally heavy rainfall. The Flash Flood Watch is still in effect
until 30/18Z. Will see if this needs adjusting for the scheduled
forecast package this morning.
