.PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 232 PM CST THU NOV 19 2015/

Temperatures today are cooler with the surface ridge impacting
the region, and highs are expected to be in the upper 50s to mid
60s across most of the area. On Friday, temperatures are expected
to warm up into the 70s across most of the CWA as southwest winds
return to the area. Another upper trough will begin to move over
the Central Plains by Friday evening. This trough will send colder
air southward into the CWA Friday night/Saturday morning. Winds
will be rather strong and gusty behind this front, especially
across Guadalupe Pass where a High Wind Watch is in effect for
Friday night through early Saturday afternoon. MOS guidance is
continuing to show winds will be very strong across this area but
will continue to monitor this situation and let future shifts
issue a High Wind Warning if needed. Temperatures behind the front
on Saturday will be quite a bit cooler with highs in the mid 40s
to lower 50s expected across most of the area. Low temperatures
Sunday morning are expected to plummet into the mid 20s to lower
30s across much of the CWA with light winds and mostly clear skies
in place. This will likely result in Freeze Warnings and Hard
Freeze Warnings being issued for much of the Permian Basin and
Trans Pecos.

Upper ridging will begin to move over the region on Sunday as the
previously mentioned upper trough moves over the eastern conus.
There is a slight chance of rain Monday into Tuesday morning across
the Rio Grande, Davis Mountains, and Big Bend area as an upper level
disturbance moves over the region. An upper trough moving over the
western conus will begin to impact the region on Wednesday with
chances for precipitation increasing across the area Wednesday
night. Rain and storm chances will increase even more on
Thanksgiving especially across eastern sections of the CWA as the
upper trough moves closer to the region. Temperatures will gradually
warm up across the area from Sunday through next Thursday with highs
on Thursday expected to be in the upper 60s to mid 70s.
