.PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 257 AM CST Sun Jan 18 2015/

Upper ridge building in from the west will continue recent mild wx
period. This will last until another upper trough develops over CA
Tuesday and swings east impacting the region Wednesday and Thursday.
After that brief ridging returns into the weekend before another
trough threatens the region.

Next couple of days the forecast will mainly focus on temperatures
as little significant wx expected. A south wind returns today and
with warming 850mb temps should be a little warmer than Saturday...
and even warmer on Monday. Have trended toward the warmer guidance
the next few days with widespread highs in the 60s today with more
70s on Monday. The next cold front will be Tuesday... does not look
super cold but fropa should have a brisk north wind with it due to
a tight pressure gradient. The wind wind will briefly become easterly
Wednesday before another reinforcing cold shot Thursday with a north
wind as surface ridge builds into the region. Highs in the 50s
Wednesday and 40s Thursday... cold days with what looks to be
another extended time of lots of clouds and little sunshine.
Temperatures start to recover Friday into the weekend but remain
below normal.

Forecast dry through Tuesday but on Wednesday have pops once again
returning with potential for additional wintry precip. The
temperatures during the day should be above freezing so any precip
should be liquid but late night/early morning could have temps
around freezing. Best chance of precip/highest pops looks to be
Wednesday night. Will not get too much into precip type as models
will change by then but could see mixed precip Wednesday night
mainly north.
