AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIDLAND/ODESSA TX
325 AM CDT Wed Jun 3 2015

.DISCUSSION...
Quiet night across southeast NM and west TX with temperatures mainly
in the 60s under mostly clear skies. Upper ridging will remain
parked over the region with a surface trough extending southward
into the higher terrain regions. Today will be very similar to
yesterday with highs generally in the low 90s and isolated to
scattered convection possible near the Davis Mtns. MOS guidance has
been too warm by several degrees so will undercut guidance for
forecasted highs for today.

Our weather will remain uneventful through the remainder of the work
week under the influence of the upper ridge which will suppress rain
chances across most areas. Moist, upslope flow will help temper high
temps through the week and will continue to forecast near normal
temperatures. The ridge axis will shift ever so slightly eastward
over the next few days as an upper low digs south through the west
coast. This upper trough looks to weaken as it heads NE through the
Rockies over the weekend and the upper ridge will flattened across
the southern US in response to an upper trough swinging into the
Great Lakes region. Any significant lift looks to remain to the
north of the FA and rain chances look pretty slim through the
weekend. The next chance for rain maybe the middle of next week as
the upper ridge builds over the Rockies with a few disturbances
moving SE over the area in NE flow aloft.
