FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR TEXAS
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX
454 AM CDT SAT APR 25 2015

.DISCUSSION...
GUSTY SOUTHWEST WINDS TODAY WILL COMBINE WITH DRY AND MILD CONDITIONS
TO PRODUCE ELEVATED FIRE DANGER CONCERNS ACROSS THE EXTREME SOUTHWEST
TEXAS PANHANDLE AND NORTHWESTERN SOUTH PLAINS. FIRE SPREAD WILL STILL
BE POSSIBLE IN THIS AREA WHERE LOCALIZED STANDS OF CURED FUELS HAVE
NOT BEEN FULLY MITIGATED BY THE STRONG SEASONAL VEGETATIVE GREENING
UNDERWAY JUST TO THE SOUTH AND EAST. SUNDAY WILL REMAIN MILD AND
BREEZY...WHILE ELEVATED THUNDER CHANCES WILL IMPROVE LATE IN THE DAY
WITH THE APPROACH OF A CLOSED UPPER LOW FROM THE WEST. MONDAY AND
TUESDAY WILL SEE COOLER TEMPERATURES AND A CHANCE FOR WETTING RAIN.
