FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR THE SOUTH PLAINS REGION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX
426 AM CDT TUE MAR 24 2015

.DISCUSSION...
FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS WILL BE ELEVATED THIS MORNING THROUGH THE
EARLY AFTERNOON. A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE REGION THIS
MORNING INCREASING NORTHERLY WINDS ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE PANHANDLE
INTO THE NORTHERN SOUTH PLAINS AND NORTHERN ROLLING PLAINS. WINDS
WILL DECREASE DURING THE AFTERNOON LESSENING THE FIRE WEATHER
THREAT. THERE WILL BE A BRIEF PERIOD WHERE WINDS WILL COMBINE WITH
LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES FROM LATE MORNING THROUGH EARLY
AFTERNOON TO CREATE ELEVATED CONDITIONS.

VERY DRY AIR WILL STAY IN PLACE FOR WEDNESDAY BUT WINDS WILL
LIKELY BE LIGHTER. ANOTHER STRONG COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH ON
WEDNESDAY EVENING SHIFTING SOUTHWEST WINDS TO THE NORTH AND
BECOMING BREEZY.
