FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR THE SOUTH PLAINS AREA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX
601 AM CDT TUE SEP 2 2014

.DISCUSSION...
IT WILL BE HOT AGAIN TODAY...BUT DOWN A NOTCH FROM THE RECORD
LEVELS OF LABOR DAY. WINDS WILL GENERALLY BE SOUTHERLY...EXCEPT
ACROSS THE NORTH WHERE THEY MAY BE SOMEWHAT VARIABLE AS A WEAK
FRONT DIPS IN FROM THE TEXAS PANHANDLE BEFORE LOOSING DEFINITION
THIS AFTERNOON. THERE IS AN OUTSIDE CHANCE OF A HIGH-BASED STORM
NEAR THE CAPROCK ESCARPMENT THIS AFTERNOON/EVENING...THOUGH MOST
IF NOT ALL LOCATIONS WILL REMAIN DRY. DRY WEATHER IS THEN EXPECTED
THROUGH MUCH OF THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK WITH SOUTHERLY BREEZES
AND TEMPERATURES GRADUALLY DECREASING TOWARD AVERAGE. BETTER RAIN
CHANCES MAY EVENTUALLY OVERSPREAD THE REGION THIS WEEKEND AS A
COLD FRONT DIPS INTO THE AREA AND STALLS.
