FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR THE SOUTH PLAINS REGION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX
603 AM CDT SAT MAR 28 2015

.DISCUSSION...
VERY WARM TEMPERATURES AND DRY AIR WILL RESULT IN MINIMUM RELATIVE
HUMIDITY VALUES DROPPING BELOW 15 PERCENT ACROSS MUCH OF THE
CAPROCK THIS AFTERNOON...BUT NORTHWEST BREEZES WILL BECOME LIGHT.
A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL BRING A SHARP WIND SHIFT TO THE NORTH-
NORTHEAST AS IT PASSES THROUGH THE AREA SUNDAY. THE COOLER AND
SLIGHTLY MORE MOIST AIRMASS BEHIND THE FRONT WILL LIKELY KEEP THE
FIRE DANGER FROM BECOMING ELEVATED. HIGHER MOISTURE LEVELS AND
COOLER TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED FOR MONDAY AND TUESDAY. THERE
WILL ALSO BE A CHANCE OF WETTING RAIN...MAINLY ACROSS THE ROLLING
PLAINS. WARMER AND DRIER CONDITIONS ARE SLATED TO RETURN
WEDNESDAY.
