FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR THE SOUTH PLAINS AREA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX
520 AM CDT WED JUN 29 2016

.DISCUSSION...
HOT WEATHER WILL VISIT THE SOUTH PLAINS REGION OVER THE COMING
WEEK...WITH TEMPERATURES AT TO SEVERAL DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE. A
COMPLEX OF THUNDERSTORMS MOVING SOUTHWARD INTO THE NORTHERN TEXAS
PANHANDLE AS OF 5 AM WILL LIKELY DIMINISH LATER THIS MORNING...BUT
IT WILL LEAVE BEHIND A BOUNDARY THAT COULD POTENTIALLY SPARK
ADDITIONAL ISOLATED TO WIDELY SCATTERED STORMS THIS AFTERNOON AND
EVENING. AN UPPER RIDGING BUILDING MORE DIRECTLY OVERHEAD ON
THURSDAY WILL LIKELY KEEP THE SOUTH PLAINS REGION DRY BEFORE SLIM
STORM CHANCES REENTER THE PICTURE LATE FRIDAY INTO THE HOLIDAY
WEEKEND. OUTSIDE OF ANY STORM INFLUENCES WINDS WILL GENERALLY BE
ON THE LIGHT SIDE...SUSTAINED AT 5 TO 15 MPH.
