FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR THE SOUTH PLAINS AREA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX
417 AM CDT THU APR 28 2016

.DISCUSSION...
SPOTTY ELEVATED WILDFIRE CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS
THE WESTERN SOUTH PLAINS BEHIND A DRYLINE...HOWEVER THE OVERALL LOW
COVERAGE OF CRITICAL FUELS DUE TO MODEST GREENING IN THESE AREAS
PRECLUDES A RANGELAND FIRE DANGER STATEMENT.

SOUTHEAST WINDS THIS MORNING WILL TURN SOUTH TODAY AND INCREASE TO
15-20 MPH. MINIMUM RH VALUES WILL RANGE FROM 12 PERCENT NEAR THE NM
STATE LINE TO 40 PERCENT FARTHER EAST. A FEW SEVERE STORMS ARE LIKELY THIS
AFTERNOON IN THE ROLLING PLAINS WITH ADDITIONAL SEVERE STORMS LATE
TONIGHT MAINLY EAST OF HIGHWAY 385. EXPECT MUCH DRIER AND VERY BREEZY
SW WINDS ON FRIDAY BEHIND THE DRYLINE.
