Fire Weather Planning Forecast for New Mexico and Far West Texas
National Weather Service El Paso TX/Santa Teresa NM
148 PM MDT Mon Mar 27 2017

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM MDT TUESDAY...

.DISCUSSION...
Breezy to windy conditions with max temperatures fluctuating some
5 degrees above and below normal will prevail this week as a
series of Pacific storm systems move through the area. A strong
upper low will bring gusty winds and blowing dust to the region on
Tuesday, along with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms
to the higher elevations, especially the Gila. Fire danger should
remain elevated today in most areas and in the afternoon across
some portions of El Paso, Hudspeth and southern Otero counties
Tuesday but min RH values will be marginal and may be close to
critical levels. Another strong storm system looks likely on
Friday and Saturday, with more wind and lowland blowing dust with
a much likelier risk of Red Flag conditions most areas Friday.
