FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NEW MEXICO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE EL PASO TX/SANTA TERESA NM
652 AM MDT SUN APR 19 2015

.DISCUSSION...
NORTHWEST FLOW IN THE WAKE OF A DEPARTING UPPER LOW WILL BRING A
FEW WEAK DISTURBANCES INTO THE AREA OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.
A DRY AIR MASS WILL PERSIST...WHICH WILL LIMIT RAIN CHANCES.
HOWEVER...WEAK INSTABILITY THIS AFTERNOON ALONG WITH THE INCOMING
UPPER DISTURBANCE WILL LEAD TO BUILD-UPS OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN
WITH ISOLATED HIGH-BASED SHOWERS/THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING LATE IN
THE DAY. THIS WILL LEAD TO THE RISK OF A FEW DRY LIGHTNING STRIKES
THIS AFTERNOON AND AGAIN MONDAY AFTERNOON OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN
OF THE GILA REGION...BLACK RANGE...SAN ANDRES...AND SACRAMENTO
MOUNTAINS.

AN UPPER LOW WILL DEVELOP OFF THE CALIFORNIA COAST LATER IN THE
WEEK...BRINGING INCREASINGLY BREEZY SOUTHWEST WINDS TO THE AREA
AND AN OUTSIDE CHANCE OF PRECIP TOWARDS THE END OF THE WEEK.
