Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central New Mexico
National Weather Service Albuquerque NM
645 AM MST Mon Feb 27 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TO 6 PM TODAY FOR THE
EAST CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST PLAINS DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW
HUMIDITY...

.DISCUSSION...
Critical fire weather conditions will return to much of eastern
New Mexico for several hours this afternoon into early evening
as winds strengthen ahead of a potent upper level trough. This
Pacific trough system will bring even stronger winds areawide
tonight into Tuesday, but it will also usher in some much needed
moisture and precipitation. Accumulating snow will return to the
higher elevations of northern and western New Mexico. Cooler
temperatures and higher humidities will preclude widespread
critical fire weather conditions on the plains for Tuesday.
Much drier and warmer weather will return for second half of the
week with less windiness.
