...CRITICAL FIRE CONDITIONS CONTINUE TODAY...

.Persistent west to northwest flow will lead to extended breezy
to windy conditions across the region through the end of the week.
Expect winds of 25 to 40 mph through this evening which will
combine with relative humidities in the upper single digits to
lower teens. A cool down is expected for Wednesday with lighter
winds, but strong winds and low relative humidities will likely
return for Thursday.

THURSDAY EVENING FOR STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITIES...

The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has
issued a Fire Weather Watch, which is in effect from Thursday
afternoon through Thursday evening.

* WINDS...West-southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts over 50 mph
  through this evening and westerly at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to
  40 mph on Thursday.

* HUMIDITY...9 to 15 percent.

* HIGHEST THREAT THURSDAY...Lowland locations south and east of a
  line from Deming to Alamogordo.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
Red Flag Warnings.

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.
