On this day in 2006, A strong upper level storm system moved over the Midland forecast area bringing snow, sleet, and ice to southeastern New Mexico and west Texas. Snow amounts were small, less than 3 inches in all area. However, ice on Interstate 20 resulted in several accidents and a portion of the Interstate being closed. No injuries or fatalities were reported.
