NWS Midland
Facebook Photo Contest Guidelines

We are introducing this photo contest as a great way to interact with the fans of our Facebook page. We greatly appreciate all the photos shared with us. For those who are curious and/or would like to participate, here are some guidelines for the photo contest.

Submitting Photos

To submit a photo, go to the NWS Midland Facebook page. You must be logged into your Facebook account. Next, right below our “About” section at the top of the page, you will see a place to post a comment or add a photo/video. Just click "Photo/Video" -> click "Upload photos/video ->choose your file -> then click "Post". It’s that easy!

Photo Eligibility

  • Taken in the local area (west Texas, southeast New Mexico). When possible, please include date and location.
  • Must have been taken by YOU!
  • May include weather, nature, local landmarks or astronomy.
  • Please let us know that the photo is your entry for the contest by including “Submission for the Photo Contest” in the body of your photo.
  • There is no requirement that photos be from the last year or two, so if you would like to enter a photo that is several years old, we’d love to see it!

One photo entry per person limit. But as always, feel free to send as many photos as you want to us, because we love to see them! If you do share more than one, please designate which one you’d like to be for the contest.

Winner Selection

We will post all the entries shared in a “Contest Photos” album and allow all of our fans to vote for their favorite by “liking” that photo. The 3 photos with the most “votes” will be added to the “Winning Photos” album and used by the NWS Midland for cover photos and graphics!

Additional Notes

When there is active weather, we’d greatly appreciate your reports and photos, also including time and location. If you do post a photo during or after a significant weather event and you’d like it to be your photo contest entry, just let us know with a comment under the photo.
