.DISCUSSION... A COLD FRONT HAS MOVED ACROSS THE FOUR STATE AREA
THIS MORNING AND AFTERNOON BRINGING IN ANOTHER SHOT OF COLD AND
DRIER AIR WITH BUILDING SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE. THE PRESSURE
PATTERN ALOFT IS A WESTERLY FLOW IN THE BOTTOM OF A BROAD UPPER
TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE AND WILL BE TRANSITIONING TO A SOUTHWEST
FLOW. COLD AIR ON THE SURFACE WILL REMAIN INTO THE WEEKEND WITH
MOISTURE ALOFT SPREADING OVER THE REGION WHICH WILL HELP PROVIDE
FOR A WINTRY MIX OVER SOME OF THE EAST AND NORTHEAST TEXAS AND
SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND POSSIBLY ADJACENT SECTIONS OF SOUTHWEST
ARKANSAS AND NORTHWEST LOUISIANA BY THE WEEKEND. NO SIGNIFICANT
AMOUNTS WILL OCCUR. INTO THE EARLY PART OF THE WEEKEND...THE
SURFACE HIGH WILL BE SHIFTING EAST ALLOWING FOR A WARM UP AND
WIDESPREAD RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS INTO THE FIRST HALF OF NEXT
WEEK.
