.DISCUSSION... AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE THAT HAS
BEEN IN PLACE ACROSS THE MID SOUTH OVER THE PAST SEVERAL DAYS
WILL BREAK DOWN LATER TODAY AND ALLOW A COLD FRONT TO MOVE
THROUGH THE REGION. AHEAD OF THE FRONT...ANOTHER HOT AND HUMID
DAY CAN BE ANTICIPATED WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE MIDDLE TO
UPPER 90S. THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY
WILL RESULT IN HEAT INDEX VALUES EXCEEDING 110 DEGREES IN MANY
LOCATIONS. EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNINGS AND HEAT ADVISORIES REMAIN IN
PLACE ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA TODAY. THE COLD FRONT WILL PUSH
ACROSS THE MID SOUTH LATER TODAY THROUGH THURSDAY. ISOLATED TO
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CAN BE EXPECTED WITH THE
FRONTAL PASSAGE. HIGH PRESSURE WILL REBUILD BEHIND THE FRONT
BRINGING COOLER TEMPERATURES AND MUCH LOWER HUMIDITY LEVELS FOR
THE END OF THE WEEK AND UPCOMING WEEKEND. TEMPERATURES AND
HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL AGAIN INCREASE BY EARLY NEXT WEEK ALONG WITH
INCREASING CHANCES FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.
