...HIGH FIRE DANGER THIS AFTERNOON DUE TO VERY STRONG WINDS...

.DISCUSSION... THE MAIN STORY IS THE STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS THAT
WILL SPREAD ACROSS THE STATE TODAY. GUSTS OF 35-40 MPH WILL BE
COMMON...ESPECIALLY IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF NORTHERN AND WESTERN
ARKANSAS AND ALSO IN THE DELTA REGION SOUTH OF I-40. IN ADDITION
TO THE WINDS...THERE IS SOME UNCERTAINTY ON THE HIGH TEMPERATURE
AND AFTERNOON RH FORECAST. IF TEMPERATURES CLIMB HIGHER THAN
FORECAST...THE RESULTING RH COULD BE NOTABLY LOWER THAN FORECAST.
A FIRE DANGER STATEMENT HAS BEEN ISSUED TO ADDRESS THESE
CONCERNS. PLEASE REFER TO THAT PRODUCT FOR MORE INFORMATION.
WINDS WILL LESSEN TONIGHT AND TOMORROW AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS
IN. DRY CONDITIONS WILL ALSO CONTINUE THROUGH THE END OF THE
WEEK.
