.DISCUSSION... SIGNIFICANT UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WILL PERSIST ACROSS
THE EASTERN HALF OF THE NATION OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THIS
WILL KEEP THE MID SOUTH POSITIONED BENEATH NORTHWEST FLOW ALOFT
WITH A SERIES OF UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES MOVING THROUGH THE
REGION. AT THE SURFACE...A COLD FRONT WILL DROP SLOWLY SOUTH
ACROSS THE MID SOUTH TODAY. THIS FRONT WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY
ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. COOLER AND SLIGHTLY LOWER
HUMIDITY VALUES WILL MOVE INTO NORTHERN SECTIONS OF THE REGION
BEHIND THE FRONT. THE FRONT SHOULD STALL ACROSS THE REGION
THROUGH MID WEEK AND BECOME THE FOCUS FOR ADDITIONAL STORM
DEVELOPMENT WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND ON THURSDAY. WARMER AND DRIER
WEATHER IS EXPECTED FOR THE FIRST HALF OF THE WEEKEND.
