.DISCUSSION... AN UPPER-LEVEL LOW AROUND THE EASTERN PERIPHERY OF
A LARGE UPPER LEVEL RIDGE THAT WILL DRIFT FROM EASTERN EASTERN
ARKANSAS SOUTHWEST WILL HELP MAINTAIN SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. THIS UPPER LOW IS FORECAST TO BRING
MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES AND HIGHER RAIN COVERAGE ON SUNDAY...LIMITING
HIGH TEMPERATURES DURING THE DAY TO THE MID 90S ACROSS MOST
LOCATIONS. THIS SHOULD ALLOW FOR LOWER HEAT INDICES. FOR THE
START TO THE WORK WEEK THE UPPER LEVEL FLOW WILL BECOME EAST TO
NORTHEAST AS THE INVERTED TROUGH/LOW ALOFT CONTINUES TO RIDE
UNDER THE RIDGE ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA. ANOTHER LARGER UPPER
LOW WILL FORM OVER THE EASTERN GULF OF MEXICO AND RETROGRADE
ACROSS THE GULF OF MEXICO THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE WORK WEEK
KEEPING RAIN AND CONVECTION ELEVATED. THE UPPER SYSTEM WILL OPEN
INTO A BROAD TROUGH ACROSS THE WESTERN GULF COAST STATES INTO THE
CENTRAL SECTIONS OF THE COUNTRY FOR THE LATER HALF OF THE
WEEKEND. THIS PATTERN WILL ALLOW FOR SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS
AFTERNOON SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS AND KEEPING TEMPERATURES IN
THE LOWER TO MIDDLE 90S. FOR LATE WEEK INTO THE WEEKEND THE FOUR
STATE REGION WILL BE SITUATED BETWEEN A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE
OVER THE SOUTHEAST ATLANTIC COAST AND FLORIDA AND ANOTHER UPPER
LEVEL RIDGE CENTERED NEAR THE FOUR CORNERS REGION...WITH A SHEAR
AXIS OR WEAKNESS FROM THE UPPER MID WEST TO SOUTHWEST TEXAS.
