.DISCUSSION...GUSTY NORTHERLY WINDS...FOLLOWING TODAYS COLD
FRONT...WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING
HOURS BEFORE DIMINISHING SOME LATE TONIGHT. A MUCH COOLER AND
DRIER AIRMASS WILL MOVE INTO THE REGION FOR THE WEEKEND. THIS
WILL BRING MINIMUM RH VALUES TO 25% OR LESS FOR LOCATIONS ACROSS
SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI...NOTABLY THE HIGHWAY 84 CORRIDOR AND SOUTH.
THE RH VALUES ALONG WITH 20FT WINDS OF 15MPH OR GREATER CAUSE
SOME CONCERN FOR FIRE DANGER MOSTLY ON SATURDAY. BECAUSE OF
THIS...WE ARE ISSUING A FIRE DANGER STATEMENT FOR LOCATIONS IN
SOUTH MISSISSIPPI. LOCATIONS NORTH OF HIGHWAY 84 SHOULD SEE
HIGHER RH VALUES DESPITE SOME DISTRICTS IN THE EAST STILL HAVING
GUSTY NORTHERLY WINDS. WINDS WILL DIMINISH GREATLY SATURDAY NIGHT
AS THE HIGH PRESSURE CENTER MOVES OVER OUR REGION. THIS WILL
BRING FREEZING TEMPERATURES AREAWIDE ALONG WITH SOME FROST. FROST
IS NOT AS MUCH OF A CONCERN TONIGHT AS WINDS WILL REMAIN GUSTY
AND DEW IS NOT EXPECTED TO FORM. WARMER TEMPERATURES WILL OCCUR
INTO NEXT WEEK WITH ANOTHER CHANCE FOR RAIN BY THE END OF THE
WEEK.
