Heavy Snow (January 27-28, 2000) |

A major winter storm brought snow and ice to Arkansas on January 27th (and early
on the 28th). The storm came after a prolonged period of warmer than normal weather
and no measurable snow for almost three years in some areas (including Little Rock).

| It was the heaviest snow in 12 years, with 4 to 8 inches or more common.
Parts of southern Arkansas received over a foot of snow. |

numerous accidents reported. |
