Mrs. Marietta
McArtor of Parthenon, Arkansas has been a cooperative observer for the National Weather
Service for 25 years. She has measured rainfall and mailed her measurements to the
National Weather Service at the end of each month. These measurements are sent to
the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, North Carolina and eventually published to
become a part of the permanent record of the world's weather.

Rainfall data provided by Mrs. McArtor has
helped support river forecasting, agricultural, construction and recreational interests in
and near her area. For her efforts,
Mrs. McArtor received a 25 Year Length-of-Service Award on October 1, 2004.
