Aviation Award (December, 2004)
 
Organizers at the aviation seminar and recipients of the 2004 National Weather Service 2004 Third Quarter Aviation Team Award. The National Weather Service held an aviation seminar at the IMAX theatre in Little Rock on July 31, 2004. The seminar was geared toward people with aviation interests.

Almost 60 people signed up for the aviation seminar.   Almost 60 people attended the seminar. Topics included aircraft icing and thunderstorms... with an in-depth look at local climatology and aviation services available.

The featured speakers were Newton Skiles (Senior Forecaster), Christopher Buonanno (Science and Operations Officer) and Paul Iniguez (Meteorologist Intern)... all from the National Weather Service in Little Rock. Newton Skiles talks about aircraft icing.

Attendees were provided with an outline of each presentation...with plenty of room to take notes.  The seminar was provided to help strengthen ties between the National Weather Service and the aviation community. A lot of positive feedback was received following the seminar.
